Winter Sowing
Winter Sowing This is the place you must go, if you love gardening and love trying something new. It works - it really really works - and I have a garden full of healthy, strong plants that were sown in the winter, sprouted when it was still cold, and thrived. Read the FAQ, and ask any question on the forum, as the folks there are just unbelievably friendly. But be warned - it is totally addictive!

Winter Sowing Magic
Well, my tumble into the glass door forced me to stay home the next day, and sadly did not allow for much gardening - knees being very important in that activity. But, a cheerful winter sown (yes, seeds sown in the dead of winter) hot pink lavatera appeared to brighten my day on Friday. What a beauty - just what I needed.

You Just Never Know....
Sometimes you're just walking along, thinking of nothing in particular, and WHAM! something happens...you trip, rip your knee on concrete for the first time since a child, and plow headfirst into a glass door. Quite dramatic - what sight that must have been, purse and briefcase and me sprawled all over the place. That sure wakes one up first thing in the morning. Of all mornings, no one was around - no one - and so I just lay there for a moment or two, not sure how long it was. I have never heard such a loud thud caused by a head, of all things. Anyway - sitting at my desk now - knee pounding - head pounding - and sure hoping I won't have a concussion. Hmm, so what exactly WAS I thinking of at that moment?
