Fuming Mad!

Yes, really angry and depressed. The local SPCA paid us a visit yesterday - of course I was at work - Cat Wrangler dealt with it. Of all the horrible things going on in this province re. animal cruelty/abuse, puppy mills etc., they come to MY door because some (excuse me) bastard has complained there seem to be too many cats and pointed a finger at me. All because I have a couple over the limit - 2, that's all - the rest are visitors - they like to hang out in my garden, as you all know. I have a nice big garden and many like to visit. I am just fuming angry! The worst is not knowing which of my neighbors is the one - it must be someone close by, if they can actually see into the garden. What small lives such people must have - nothing to do but complain about others. I could complain about a lot of neighborhood stuff if I wanted to: loud cars that rattle my windows, loud parties til 3 in the a.m., but most of the time, it's "live and let live". The beginning of my summer has now been ruined by this unknown spiteful cat-hater. Does anyone know of any evil spells that actually work???

  1. Did you get a report from the spca ? Do you need to find homes for the two ?

  2. Yes - we have 48 hours to properly tag all the legal ones (4). They were not before, because they kept taking them off - but we'll have to try harder and simply replace them if they come off. Of course asking to give up the other two is like asking to give away two of my children. Car Wrangler said the "discussion" was positive and he got his point across that we are trying to reduce the overpopulation, as evidenced by the $244 vet bill for a cat that is not ours. I will probably "tag" the other two somehow - if only to reduce the likelihood of them being picked up under the pretense they have no collars. (Sigh) I wish I had the $$ to erect a huge fence all around the property - but that would take a lot, as the perimeter is large.

  3. That's disgusting. All the irresponsible pet owners out there, and they target you.

  4. What a crock. No one ever thinks of the consiquences when they do this crap. Your not me, but, I'd start calling on every little thing. Noise, strange cars parked to long, barking dogs, kids partying...of course, my neighbors don't call because I have to many cats. You live among bastards.

  5. Anya, if the cats are not "yours" you have no reason to worry. They will fade into the underbrush and not be around when it matters. Otherwise, they are meant to be picked up. I know it seems heartless, but cats have destinies, just like people do. I really believe that. Yes, tag the ones you can - maybe microchip them, since cats hate collars and tags. Otherwise, there isn't much you can do.

I think $&*# in a paper bag, setting it on fire, and running/hiding really fast after ringing the doorbell is a wonderful tactic, but you have to be selective about it. Only do that to the "wonderful neighbor" who called the SPCA on you.

    Prayers winging your way....
